1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, accessing the PastPapers Hub library or uploading material, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Accounts & eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and a current or former student of a registered institution to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account.
You may only create one account. Creating multiple accounts to abuse referral rewards, evade suspensions or inflate view/earnings counts is prohibited.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload material you do not own or have permission to share;
- upload viruses, malware or harmful code;
- attempt to scrape, mirror, decompile or reverse-engineer the platform;
- interfere with other users' access or attempt to access accounts you don't own;
- use the platform for hate speech, harassment, or illegal content;
- manipulate download counts, view counts, ratings or referral rewards.
4. Content you upload
You retain ownership of the content you upload. By uploading, you grant PastPapers Hub a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, deliver and market your content to platform users for the purpose of operating the marketplace.
You confirm that, for every upload, you either own the material or have the right to distribute it. Uploads are screened before approval and can be rejected for copyright, quality or duplication reasons.

5. Purchases & reading passes
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency selected. Payments are processed by M-Pesa (C2B) or Paystack. You are responsible for keeping your payment credentials secure.
A per-material purchase unlocks one material for the purchasing account and keeps it in your library. A reading pass unlocks online reading across the portal for the purchased duration; the timer starts when you explicitly activate the pass, and it does not include downloads unless specifically stated.
Downloaded files cannot be fully protected once they leave our servers. Do not share them publicly or commercially — that may result in account suspension.
6. Contributor earnings & payouts
Contributor commission is set as a percentage of the material price and is visible in your earnings dashboard. Earnings may be held for a short reserve period to cover refunds and chargebacks.
Withdrawals require phone and email OTP verification. Payout limits, fees and processing times are shown at request time. We may route higher-risk requests for manual review.
You are solely responsible for any tax obligations arising from your earnings.
7. Refunds & disputes
Digital purchases are generally non-refundable once the file has been accessed. If a material is materially different from its description (for example, a missing marking scheme that was listed as included), report it within 7 days for review.
For paid content requests (bounties), the reward is held in a pending state until the requester accepts the delivery or a dispute process concludes.
8. Intellectual property
PastPapers Hub's brand, logo, source code and platform design are owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not use them without written permission.
The copyright in material you upload remains yours (subject to any underlying rights held by a university or third party). If a third party owns the rights, you are responsible for obtaining permission before uploading.
9. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is". We do not warrant that any material is accurate, complete or suitable for your specific course. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from your use of the platform is limited to the greater of the amount you paid in the previous 12 months or KES 1,000.
10. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, infringe copyright, abuse referral rewards or damage the platform. Where practical, we will notify you and give you an opportunity to respond.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect.
12. Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Kenya unless mandatory local law provides otherwise.
